what we do
over the past 18 months we have developed partnerships with various schools and aim to build on these successes.
at the bowery we believe in the importance of creative learning - building key skills and challenging students through our talks, workshops, classes and activities.
we run regular sessions for young people with the aim of encouraging cross-curricular learning through a wide range of creative practices and learning styles.
our education workshops develop skills which support education at all levels from primary to further education. the bowery staff responsible for workshops are criminal record bureau checked and the lead tutor is a former teacher of secondary art and design and a gcse examiner.
our educational programme is focused on our contemporary art space which houses a new exhibition of emerging artists’ work every three months. working alongside the exhibition allows students to consider art as a current cultural practice with interdisciplinary implications. we encourage students to reflect upon their creative process in order to marry a practical outcome with critical reflection.
